Best Automation Tools for 2026: Sales, AI Content and Data
The best automation tools depend on the job, so this page sorts them into three categories. Each category links to its own list. Use the sections below to find the right one, then read the list for details.

The best automation tools by category
What to compare before you pick
Most automation tools look similar on a landing page, so compare them on four points before you commit.
- Pricing model. Flat monthly, usage-based or per seat. Usage-based tools cost more as volume grows, so estimate your volume first.
- Trial terms. Check whether a card is required and what the free tier actually includes.
- Integrations. Confirm the tool connects to the apps you already use, through a native connector or a webhook.
- Verification steps. Some data tools require an identity check before you can use certain products.
How we pick
We don’t give tools numeric scores of our own. Each category list is built from the vendor’s published pricing and docs, plus third-party ratings where they exist, and each list shows the date we checked. Where we have used a tool ourselves, the list says so. Where we haven’t, it says that too.
Sales & Marketing Automation
This list covers CRMs, funnel builders and pipeline automation. If you’re deciding between two funnel platforms, read our ClickFunnels review first, then the GoHighLevel review for pricing and features. Both reviews are dated, so check the figures against the vendor’s page before you buy.
AI Content & Media Production
This list covers writing, video and repurposing tools. It’s the right place to start if your bottleneck is making content rather than distributing it. Look for tools that export in the formats your publishing channels accept.
Data, Tools & Digital Infrastructure
This list covers scrapers, proxies and data platforms. For a hands-on starting point, read the Apify tutorial. If you need proxy-based collection at volume, read the Bright Data review and the Apify vs Bright Data comparison. Current plans are on each vendor’s pricing page, such as Apify’s pricing page and Bright Data’s pricing page.
Before you buy
- Before you buy any of the best automation tools here, check the price on the vendor’s own pricing page.
- Look at the date on each list. A figure from last month may no longer be current.
- Test on a free tier or trial where one exists, before you commit to a paid plan.
Frequently asked questions
Which of the best automation tools should a solopreneur start with?
Start with the category that matches your biggest bottleneck. For data collection, the Apify tutorial is the most hands-on starting point. For funnels and pipeline, start with the GoHighLevel and ClickFunnels reviews.
Are these best automation tools based on hands-on testing?
Not for every tool. Brody has used Apify’s Store Actors for competitor research. For other tools, each list says whether we used it or relied on the vendor’s published information and third-party ratings.
